Despite adding numerous upgrades and features, the 2021 Atlas is available at the same price as the 2020 model. Here are some of the amenities found in the 2021 Atlas.

Design Features

The interior of the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas offers a newly-designed steering wheel and optional accent stitching on leather upholstery. An 8-inch infotainment touch screen is now standard on all models except for the base S.

Volkswagen’s Car-Net telematics system is now standard on every Atlas. This system allows you to use the VW app to check the status of your vehicle, remote start/stop, remote lock/unlocks, and remote honk/flash vehicle lights.

The front of the Atlas now includes a modern-looking bumper, silver faux skid plate, updated grille, and LED headlights. The rear also includes a new bumper as well as LED taillights. Atlas R-Line models also include signature bumpers and larger wheels.

Engine Options

The engine options for the 2021 model year include the turbocharged 235 horsepower, 2.0-liter I-4 and a 276 horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6. Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system will now be available on both engines, not just the V-6 as in previous years. The I-4 engine used to be available only on lower-end models but will now be available on all trim packages.

Expanded Safety Features

The 2021 Atlas includes more active safety features including automatic emergency braking, blind-zone monitoring, forward collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic alert. Traffic jam assist will now be an optional safety feature on all models, joining adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera.
