There’s a 6-Mile Underground Tunnel
If you’ve spent much time in Houston, you may already know about the 6-mile-long tunnel 20 feet below downtown Houston. The tunnel, which connects 95 blocks, contains all sorts of retail stores and restaurants. These tunnels were constructed in the 1930s to connect movie theaters and were then expanded to allow workers to travel through downtown Houston out of the sun.

The Houston metropolis, which contains The Woodlands and Sugar Land is 9,444 square miles, which makes it bigger than the entire state of New Jersey.
