Whether you’re looking for a new date night spot or just a fun night out with friends, Houston has you covered. From country music to pop and everything in between, this city is full of live music venues where you can see your favorite musicians, discover new artists, and have a great time. Ready to dive in? Here are a couple of our favorites.

  1. Anderson Fair

Singer-songwriters and their fans flock to this Montrose venue. It’s an intimate space with impressive beer and wine lists. The historic location has been in business since 1969. You’ll want to check out the summer concert schedule they release each spring, and remember to bring cash—Anderson Fair does not accept cards.

  1. Cactus Music

You might know this business as the hip emporium full of new and used records. In business for nearly 45 years, Cactus Music is also one of the best places to take in live music. The small stage and complimentary Saint Arnold beer make this a comfortable spot to hear both indie and big-name acts.

  1. Fitzgerald’s

This historic location has showcased local artists for decades. Check out indie musicians in one of the heartbeats of Houston. Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for established groups, but Wednesday’s open mic nights can’t be beat. With multiple stages and shows each week, there’s something for everyone at Fitzgerald’s.

When it comes to live music venues, the Bayou City does not disappoint. Next time you’re looking for tunes, brews, and food, keep it local. Enjoy!
